Do you need to bring your own mat?
YES.
 

Who can attend the classes? Do they need to be members? How long do classes go for?
Students with experience from all walks of life including dancers, athletes, runners, housewives can attend the classes. Classes are suitable for all people whatever their experience of level. Non-members can join on a drop-in basis. Registration is required – please do not turn up unexpectedly.
Classes are one hour long unless indicated otherwise.
 

What type of yoga is it and what is it good for? Hatha?
Hatha Yoga & Kundalini Yoga in the tradition of Patanjali.

Hatha Yoga

This is one of the most popular approaches to yoga, with many styles of yoga originating from it. Hatha Yoga is ideal for beginners as it is slow paced, gentle and low impact. 

Yogi Swatmarama, a Hindu sage of 15th Century India, introduced this system of yoga.

The term ‘Hatha’ is a Sanskrit (ancient language of India) word; “Ha” meaning “sun” and “tha” meaning “moon.” It is known as the system of yoga that brings union to opposites, by  balancing the mind and body. Hatha Yoga is based on asanas (postures) that are used in conjunction with pranayama (breathing techniques).

Asanas teach poise and balance whilst developing muscle flexibility, power and concentration. They also massage internal organs and open energy channels in the body, allowing energy to flow freely. There are several kinds of asanas – standing, backwards and forwards bends and twists - which are held for varying amounts of time. 

Pranayama relaxes and focuses the mind through controlled, deep and rhythmic breathing. It is believed that when the breath is stable and still, so too is the mind. Pranayama can also help manage asthma and bronchitis by bringing attention to one’s breathing and increasing lung capacity.

The following are the Hatha Yoga classes taught by Sacci:

Gentle Yoga™ Yoga program fills the mind and body with calming & relaxing energy. I will guide you mindfully through gentle movements while helping you to experience a meditative state. Gentle Yoga will help to infuse your entire being with calm and refreshing energy which is an essential element for a busy and dynamic lifestyle. It is an excellent foundation for a beginning level practitioner, more experienced practitioners will develop a greater understanding of various poses.
 

Kundalini Yoga is a combination of yogic practices which when practiced under proper guidance, helps one to attain peak performance of body & mind and a heightened state of consciousness. The Sanskrit word “Kundalini” refers to a psycho-spiritual energy that lies dormant at the base of the spine and when activated, triggers enlightenment. Kundalini Yoga helps to stimulate this energy through a mixture of asanas, pranayama, meditation and music. Amongst several Yogis who have taught Kundalini Yoga it in the west, Paramhansa Yogananda, Pandit Gopi Krishna and Yogi Bhajan are well known for their profound Kundalini experiences and Kundalini exercise techniques. It promotes stress relief and mental clarity whilst increasing flexibility, stamina and lung capacity. According to tradition, Kundalini Yoga will also balance and strengthen the nervous, circulatory and glandular systems. This style of yoga is appropriate for persons of all abilities.

Who takes the classes?
Yogi Sacci, 108th generation Indian Yoga Teacher & Diet-Nutrition Coach.
 

About Yogi Sacci: Sacci has over 15 years of professional teaching experience in Yoga & Kundalini meditation. He has been a student of Bhagavat School of Vedanta and yoga since 1981. He is a yoga teacher and has travelled a great deal around India learning from different spiritual teachers, yogis. He has practiced Yoga with the students of Swami Sivananda, B.K.S. Iyengar and Pattabhi Jois.
 

What are the fees? 

I was taught and believe that real yoga is about helping the greatest number of people change and improve their lives both personally, interpersonally, physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, universally, absolutely. Truly, God’s gift of breath is free; Yoga is service. I provide a range of courses and guided-practice to serve all.

Small Group Class
$250 single trial / non-commitment class that enjoys maximum flexibility. This fee will be adjusted if the student joins any of the committed yoga practitioner courses.

Committed yoga practitioners enjoy more stability of practice and thus benefits of practice:
$2000, once/week. 10 class course. Valid for up to 12 weeks.
$3600, twice/week. 20 class course. Valid for up to 12 weeks.
$4800, thrice/week. 30 class course. Valid for up to 12 weeks.
 

Private Personalized Yoga (Article about Private Yoga class)
$900 single trial / non-commitment class that enjoys maximum flexibility depending on the availability of Yogi Sacci’s schedule.
The trial fee is adjusted if the student joins any of the committed yoga practitioner courses.
 
Committed yoga practitioners enjoy more stability of practice and thus benefits of practice:
Quality. Quality. Quality.
$8100, once/week. 10 class course. Valid for up to 12 weeks.
$7700, twice/week. 10 class course. Valid for up to 6 weeks.
$7300, thrice/week. 10 class course. Valid for up to 4 weeks.
$14,000, twice/week. 20 class course. Valid for up to 12 weeks.
$19,800, thrice/week. 30 class course. Valid for up to 12 weeks. 
 
 

Important Notice:
ૐ Please leave at least 2 hours between a meal and yoga class so you will have an empty stomach.
ૐ Eat well and sleep well to be fit for practice – it is hard work.
ૐ Dress in layers of comfortable, loose clothing and bring your own mat.
ૐ Mats and yoga props can be purchased online at Amazon - search yoga props/books on above amazon banner.
ૐ Tie or pin back your hair during class.
ૐ "Mantra Meditation" and open discussion on vedic philosophy is conducted from time to time for students who are interested in the philosophy of yoga. You will be notified on such occasions.


SacciYoga Payment Policy:

Learning yoga requires dedication.  Discount Advance Payment as mentioned on this page is an incentive for people to be regular and committed in their attendance by giving a discounted rate.  In this regard, please note the following:

1. Discount Advance Payment
 ૐ is for a minimum of 10 classes.
 ૐ is for specific classes for specific weekdays.  (If you pay for Mondays, you are paying for those Mondays.)
 ૐ is payment whether you come or not because your space is reserved. Please book in advance.
2. If you cannot attend your pre-paid class for whatever reason, I would like you to call me in advance and arrange to make it up that week at a different time and venue (if available).
3. Drop ins are allowed on a restricted first come first served basis at $250 per class. Please call first.
4. No refunds for missed classes and no payments carried forward. Cancellations on six days before the day of class will be charged.
5. Registration and payment is due at the end of the month for continuing students.
6. Above points applies to Private students as well.
